On my other blog, (armed with truth on wordpress), I shared about sleep. Here, I am just going to share some music from my favorite pianist, Paul Collier. His music has been a blessing from heaven for me. It lulls me into dream land. One of things I love most is sleeping, and as it says in Psalms, the Lord grants sleep to those he loves.

Psalm 127:2

It has been so long I don't know if anyone reads this anymore, but I was in China for three years. I have been home in between jobs for nine months. If my visa goes through I will return to China in two weeks to work at an international schoool.

I just finished my certification for Teaching English as a Second Language! If everything works out I will be heading to China with Ameson Year in China in September! I am so excited!

I am now a grad student at Liberty University in Virginia. I am studying human services, which is part of the counseling program. I am also working on getting my certification in teaching English as a second language. I am hoping I can someday connect my two passions somehow such as working with refugees. I am loving college life again!

I have not been a very avid writer the past several months. I let life catch up to me all too fast. I last wrote on my last day of college. I am still working security. I have yet to find a better job despite my diploma. I feel a little like I am in the land of limbo, but I trust that my God has something good planned for me. Something very good. :)

Today was the last day of undergraduate school! I finally passed algebra! I am done! Now, I just have to send in my transcripts and apply for my diploma. In the mean time I will continue working the security jobs. This weekend I will be going up to Mepkins Abbey for some peace, reflection, and guidance. Really looking forward to it. Then, I go back to work although they may have me at some new posts. I am thankful for the time off so I could finally finish school, but I think I am ready to go back to work. I am looking forward to hearing from God this weekend in the meantime though!

I am having a wonderful break from work so far. I am still pretty busy with school and church, but I am not so tense. Also, I just started my ministry blog which I hope to use in the future for mostly ministry purposes and as an outreach. It is http://armedwithtruth.wordpress.com. I have not done an update for some time! I have been working with US Security again since October. I still miss CSU and the students there a lot. Now I work 6 days a week as an armed guard in grocery stores and gas stations. I don't exactly like it, but it is the job God has given me and my distaste for it has given me the determination to finally finish school. I was too content while working at the college because I loved working with the students. After that world was taken me I realized I needed to finish school and stop playing around. After failing it twice, I finally did well in intermediate algebra this spring semester. Now I am taking the last class I need to graduate with my bachelors degree. I am determined to finish. So much that I will be taking off from work the last half of my class (pretty excited too about getting away from work for a while). I am also taking a music appreciation class just to raise my GPA a little (and because its fun!) I plan to try to blog each week about music (starting this weekend - I have too much homework right now) while I am in this class. It will help me mentally collect what I have learned and it will also be a great thing to share with you all! Music is a gift from God that is meant to touch the soul.

I recently resigned from my contracted position at Charleston Southern University. I don't know what exactly is next but I know I am held in the hands of a loving Father and I will follow is His footsteps wherever they may take me.

It had been a nice summer here in Charleston and it is time for the students to come back to Charleston Southern University. I have surely missed them. I do not think my heart was right last school year. God has placed me as staff on this campus giving me a chance to serve and minister to other young people but I was looking back so much at my time in Liberty that I failed to let him use me where I was. I plan to change that this year by getting more involved in campus ministries. I am currently praying about going on a trip back to Costa Rica next summer - this time with the students of CSU. Things have changed quickly. i recently became the Captain/Site Supervisor for all the contracted guards on campus. My greatest prayer is that God would grant me wisdom in how to lead these people he places under my supervision! That is all for now.

A friend pointed out to me that it has been a long time since I wrote on my blog. I have been back in Charleston since the summer. I decided not to get any more loans due to my desire to go into fulltime ministry. Thus, since August I have just been working at Charleston Southern University trying to raise money to return to Liberty University next fall (although I am open still to the thought he might lead me elsewhere for a term). I am currently applying for internships for the summer. The past several summers I have gone on a mission, but God has yet to really place any one place on my heart so I am thinking it may be best to use this summer to raise funds for graduate school and pay off some of my loans. The internship I am most interested in is with a ministry called Prison Fellowship. It was started many years a go by Chuck Colson and its mission is to transform lives of criminals by giving them a new start (both phyisically and hopefully even spiritually) after they get out of prison. Restorative justice has been a growing passion of mine so it would be a good way for me to use my criminal justice degree to carry out God's purposes. Y'all can pray for me as I await decisions regarding the outcome of my applications. They are kinda time consuming as well.

I am back residing with my parents for the summer in beautiful Charleston and once again working at CSU as a security guard. Right now, there are hundreds of youth on campus each week for summer mission camps called Mfuge. They can be rowdy but its encouraging to see so many kids excited about God's work. In regards to my missions trip to D.C., there was not enough student interest so instead I will be heading to Chicago to do inner city ministry with a couple dozen highschoolers. I will be leaving on the third of July and returning on the twenty-fifth. This will be my first mission trip within my own country. I am excited because although this semester (at Next Steps retreat mentioned in Feb entry) I have felt a stronger poll to fulltime global missions I know it will be a long road before I will have a small enough debt to go on the field fulltime. In the meantime, I desire to see where God can use me where he has currently placed me in the USA. I am well into my second semester of graduate school/seminary. Two weeks a go I moved into a new dorm to become a Spiritual Life Director. It is not a position I particulary sought, but I knew as soon as I came on the hall that the hand of the Lord had brought me there. This coming week is Missions Emphasis week and then on the 20th I will be going on a Next Steps weekend offered by Liberty. This is a weekend where those seriously considering missions will get to meet with missionary mentors who will try to aide and guide them in the decision to fulltime missions. I am not totally sure that the Lord is leading me into fulltime missions so I am praying God will just reveal His will to me in the events of the next ten days. Please pray for me as I seek God's will in this area!

I finished my first semester of graduate school. I am back at home in Charleston, South Carolina and working again at U.S. Security. I am not getting very many hours so far, but am tryign to trust God with my finances. I am back at Northside Baptist Church and will start teaching third grade Sunday school again next week (turned out the friend I used to teach it with is goign out of town while I am here). I recently signed up to be one of the leaders for an Xtreme Impact Trip to Washington D.C. Its amazing how God puts things into perspective. In October, I went to Jersey and visited Hindu temples and in D.C. this next summer I will be ministering some in Hindu and Muslim temples. I am also signed up to take Apologetics of Middle Eastern Religions and Apologetics of Near Eastern Religions next semester which will no doubt help me when I minister to people on the missions trip. A part of me wanted to go abroad again this summer, but I just really felt God calling me to see the great need within my own country... Pray for me as I will soon be sendign out letters for financial support..

I have come to conclusion that I am not really sure where exactly God is leading me as far as the future. My mind and heart just wants to go and serve everywhere. I am seeing what a great need there is for God's grace in my own country and even in my little sphere of Liberty University. I went to a Cultural Immersion Weekend to little India a couple weeks a go. I saw people bowing down to idols in a Hindu temple and others bowing down to a book in a Seik temple. It opened my eyes to the need within my own country and has placed a burden within my heart to pray like never before. I still desire to go to India for a time someday as I mentioned a couple weeks a go, but I don't think next summer is the time. I feel compelled to reach out within my own community, somehow. To look beyond to see the need here. I guess I say all this as I am just reflecting on how the semester is almost over and I have no better idea or what ministrty, what purpose, what mission, what vocation God has called me to. I am realizing though that for now (as my campus pastors reminded us this week) God has called me to be a student - and to be diligent at that. May He truly give me one pure and holy passion!

My time in my hometown of Charleston, South Carolina has come to a close for the time being. I arrived at Liberty University on the 11th and am very excited to see what God will do in my first year of graduate school. After much prayer, I decided to be part of the leadership team in my dorm. I will be a prayer leader which means I will lead a small group of five girls every week. I am also hoping to get more heavily involved with youth and missions this coming year. The only thing in my way right now in regards to missions is funds and God has provided before so I know He shall again if the trip goes through. I have been back from Costa Rica for about three weeks now. I will post my newsletter soon, but the Lord really did some amzing things in the hearts of the students who went and in my heart. I had not worked with youth much(due to my schedule) since I left Germany and the trip really renewed my passion for working with youth.
